Mother (Maa) is the source of life and without her it is not possible to dream about life. She is the one who nurtures us, protect us, guide us, and mentor us. She is the first teacher for everyone. Her role in our life is always very special and precious than anyone else.Unfortunately I lost my mother when I was 20. But whenever I think of those 20 years, I always recollect something insightful and special about her. As they say, “It was not possible for God to be everywhere that is why He created mother”, let’s see few leadership lessons that we can learn from mothers.
- As no two individuals are same but still mother manages her children very well by understanding each of her child’s strengths, passion and values. A leader also need to understand each of his/her team member’s strengths, passion and values, which helps to access and expand each member’s contribution in the team.
- There are working mothers who manages the job, home and children very well by being patient and humble. This shows how focused and committed mothers are. A leader also need to be patient and humble but at the same time multi-tasking, focused and committed for the work and the team.
- Mothers have a deep sense of empathy in them. Mother instantly knows what the child needs. A leader also need to have empathy and need to know and feel what the challenges of the team are and what their needs are.
- Mothers spend time with children and gets involved in their lives to ensure that they learn what they actually need to and ensure their development. A leader need do the same to ensure his/her team’s development.
- Mothers are adaptive as the children are driven by different things and she manages them well. She very well knows what motivates her children. A leader also need to be adaptive and should know what motivates each member of his/her team.
