Goals...Get ...Set ....Go.......We all want to make changes to the way we live and setting goals, whether it is related to our career or personal growth.Unfortunately most of the time we give up our goal in between, why it is so? I think there must be some basic problem with our goal setting and planning. Here we will try to sort out some key issues related to our goal setting and achievement process.
What’s wrong with our goal setting? - Sometime we set vague goals not specific.
- While focusing on end result we overlook the process.
- We start something with great energy and enthusiasm, but slowly we lose that focus and energy.
- We forget to break out our big goals into smaller milestones.
How can we do effective goal setting? Step 1 : Ask two question
- What you want?
- Why you want?
Step 2: After getting clarity on what you want, we need to do some acid tests to your goal
- Whether your goal is specific or not?
- You must be very clear in your mind that how much eager or committed you are for achieving this goal
- Your goal should be in alignment with your core values
Sometimes we have confusion or exactly we don’t know what we want, in that case you can follow following methods to get clarity.Mainly our life revolve around these three factors

- Professional
- Family
In 90 sec write down things in each section which you want to change or add ,write down whatever first thing comes in your mind.In 60 sec write down timeline for each goal i.e.6 month or 1 yr,2yr whateverNow filter down 6 month 1 yr goals from each section, and then look at this list calmly and decide which goal is most important and urgent to you and then eliminate the goals which you can postpone.Now you got your goals....
Step 3: Your why about your goal is very important, figure out at least 3-4 reason why you want to achieve this particular goal because these reasons are like energy boosters to you in your journey.Write down these reasons somewhere and read them loud every day.

- Design the process and step by step action plan.
- Develop discipline and will power.
- Keep measuring your development on regular basis.

- Celebrate and reward yourself for achieving each milestone of your goal.
- Keep reviewing your process and if you feel it required any changes implement it.
- Enjoy the journey and process while moving toward your goal.
- Surround yourself with successful and positive mindset people.
- Read positive literature and try to broaden your perspective.
Nothing is impossible to achieve in this world if we really want it, if we really want it we will find the way to get it, and if don’t want it we will find the excuse.So if you really want something go get it, do not search for excuses.
