Being the BestThat is total nonsense.I see talented people with tremendous potential fail miserably as their focus and their belief is that they are the Best. There is no such thing as the Best. Remember that and set it firmly in your minds. The entire Universe is a constantly evolving phenomenon. You can look at the vast infinity in the space and zoom into the molecular or sub atomic level and be surprised to find that all that is matter and all that is not, is constantly evolving. Mind you, it’s evolving, not changing. When you say and believe that you are the best, you are actually accepting the fact you are lazy. You no longer wish to evolve or you don’t recognise something beyond and become better. You are content. Hence you will validate the very fundamental fear. The fear that stops most from joyful and fulfilling life. The fear that is typical of ‘Mediocre Middle Class Mindset’A small exercise for you:Sit in front of mirror. Stare in your eyes. Not look, stare. Take your time. It should be natural and stress free. When you are ready, say it out loud these words “I am the Best”. Say it several time. Let it Sync in. Ready?Still staring in your eyes, think about someone who does similar work as you do. Maybe your rival. Maybe the one you are jealous of. Your mind will start seeing the other person getting better at what you do and soon would surpass you. You might feel that chill in your spine. This fear, feel it. That fear is real. There are many examples and little lessons that you can incorporate in your life and have abundance of joy and happiness together with success. Here is one small exercise you can use and implement if you like:A typical conversation that happens at least once everyday if not more.Question: Hey, how are you? Good Morning, how are we today? And such variants you will come across.Typical answers: I am great thank you and how about … or I am fine or I am super …These answers will lock you down in that mode where you have surrendered to the notion that nothing better can happen. My suggestion for reply answers: Not too bad. Could be better. Thanks for asking. The day has just begun and life is beautiful. Looking forward to more joy on the way … I am not complaining and still I know better things are in store for me today. In one of my talks, a person raised the hand immediately when I suggested the above exercise. Their objection was “In modern days, no one really cares for your answers. It’s a just a habitual thing people do.” This, my friends, is my objection. I don’t do nor I advise others to do, anything based on what the rest of the word is doing. Someone asks me, ‘How are you?’ I don’t doubt, analyse or discard their question saying it’s a habitual thing. I feel delighted for the fact that someone took the time and effort and energy to ask Me that question. Hence, I will be honest and upbeat about it in my reciprocation.Does it sound silly and irrelevant? Try this. Spend time reading the blogs posted here, properly. Not speed read or cursory scan. Properly read it. Take time in writing comments. You don’t have to be MA in English to write or conjure a ‘from the Heat’ response. Can you do that? When you can, you will be on your path to realise that there is no such thing as ‘the Best’ and to break out of it, you will have changed your mindset to ‘I am good and I can be better’ always. As always,ByHemantHemant Desai Presents
