5 day series of Personality Development Program for growing ChildrenDay 3 – ExcerptsWhen I was made responsible to handle people for the first time in my career, I was both happy & stressed. We started with 2-4 people initially, who were unalike, for obvious reasons. The members varied both in skillset and mind set. Some were over competent and wanted to win (only), some were ok with everything and some were real soldiers – confidence & positivity were placed in perfect quantity in themMy keen interest was to develop team spirit among my people without being biased, rest all will be taken care of, I knew. The organisation was growing and so does our department in terms of both tasks & team size. The only thing that was constant was - my challenge of inculcating the right team spirit in them. Which included the following: The beauty & benefits of working as a team: The slice of having healthy competition: Connecting individual goals with team goalsAs a leader, I felt it was my responsibility to work through their thought process mainly because they were all young and had a long career path ahead of them and I strongly believed that all these were important qualities to succeed. Their response time to adapt did vary which was due to their diverse family background, education and culture.During childhood, parents may not know about what our children will do, what will they choose to study and where will they get settled but we surely know that at all stages of life they will be around human beings and expected to work in harmony with themAnd as they say – “Catch them young”. Teaching our children the importance of working together when they are young will make a lot of positive difference in their lives aheadAs parents, we are their first teachers hence we must encourage them to work in groups, art of sharing, play a team sport etc.We need to tell (show) them that while winning is nice, sometimes, it is good to lose, tooMom & Dad – Please be vigilant
