“Motivation alone is not enough to succeed in life!”Why should we be asking or talking about this?Honestly when a Trainer or an Entrepreneur says these words, I get furious. What are you talking about?Motivation? Excuse me that is a prerequisite. So, when you want to do something big in life, you can’t, if you are not motivated.Let me try and present you the stages of Success Evolution that people follow and it is so wrong.
- You are inspired
- You gather Motivation
- You decide to take action
Now the fun begins.
- You research.
- You talk to find people who will ‘encourage’ you.
- You will convince yourself that you can do it! (really)
- You will run from pillar to post and convince yourself that you are doing ALL that is possible.
NonsenseLet me ask you questions:1) Do you have plan?2) Do you have Plan B? (ha ha)3) Have you prepared for ‘what if’ you failed?4) What is at stake? (What and how much are you risking?)Stop doing
“She Loves me, She Loves me not” for heaven’s sake.Grow up kids.If you never got an opportunity to serve Army or be part of NCC, you can at least learn from their everyday stories about what ‘Discipline’ is all about.Sadly, people have reduced ‘Motivation’ to one-night stand. You find an attractive opposite gender person and you are attracted to that person. In few moments, your mind has already produced half a dozen children with that person. Doh!Motivation, in my opinion is a word for lame people. People who would want to find an excuse to justify their inaptness for succeeding.
I, Me, Myself is the most important person in my life.I will produce, create whatever it is required for me to be happy and joyful in my life.I will take care of Me first so that I can help others too.I don’t need to be Motivated.I don’t need formula and steps.I will and I must acknowledge my fears and flaws.Once I have done that, I become “Aham Brahmasmi”This is not limited to some hyper spirituality or philosophy. This is real life. This is you and me.When you say you are a trainer/coach to help others succeed, why can't you help yourself first?"Charity begins at Home". You know what it really means? It means you better have tried what you are teaching. Walk your talk.Wake up my friends before it is too late to realise that to succeed, to make money, you don’t have to struggle.Wise is the one who takes the least steps to achieve their objective. However you have been convinced that such people are ‘lazy’.Believe me, I did be so excited if someone called me lazy. In modern management terms, I will call it, Efficient!Think about it. All these labels and compartmentalisation is not helping you. You are YOU. One hell of a unique person with infinite talent. You simply need to shine. In conclusion, here are some lines, hopefully they will drive home the point …
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” --
