What is your IDEA?Are you one of those people who get ideas but don’t work on them for some reason? If yes, then you are missing out on something very important. Whatever your reason, but I want to make a case for why you should work on your ideas.Look around you. Whatever you see, eat, drink, wear, ride, or drive was just an idea earlier. The gadgets that you use were all just ideas in somebody’s mind. The schools, colleges, and universities we go to study were just ideas before somebody went ahead and built them! All businesses were only ideas before the owner of the idea worked on them.The idea of establishing people’s rule in his country made Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the most revered king in human history.A young girl used to wear potato sacks because her family could not afford clothing. Later she became Oprah Winfrey.A lady did odd jobs and lived off government welfare before she got an idea for a book. She published Harry Potter and became J. K. Rowling.A very young boy loved the idea of singing, writing songs and dancing. Later, he came to be known as Michael Jackson, the “King of Pop”.Going to America to live his dream was just an idea for a young Austrian boy. Because of that idea, he became Arnold Schwarzenegger.Working for the downtrodden seemed a good idea to a girl. That idea made her Mother Teresa and she won the Nobel Peace Prize.Getting the British out of his country was just an idea for this young lawyer. His struggles for his country turned him into Mahatma Gandhi.A young boy dreamed of getting independence for his country. He later raised an entire army and came to be known as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.This poor boy from India loved the idea of flying. His passion for his idea made him the most loved scientist and President of the largest democracy in the world. His idea helped him become Bharat Ratna A P J Abdul Kalam.A young Mumbai boy’s idea of happiness was getting more runs for his cricket team. That idea made Sachin Tendulkar the “God of Cricket” and earned him millions of fans.I can give you innumerable such examples of great people who revolutionized the world by their ideas. But what made these people great? Before they started working on their ideas, all of them were ordinary. Their ideas made them great!Steve Jobs got an idea of having a small device that can store thousands of songs and iPod was born. The Wright brothers got an idea that humans should fly and they created the first machine that could fly. Take any mobile app that you use today… Whether it is Facebook, Whatsapp, YouTube, Instagram, Tinder, LinkedIn, Google, Uber, Ola, Oyo… the list is endless… all these were just ideas that saw the light of day because their creators believed in their ideas.Before man walked on the moon, it was just an idea. Countries got independence from their colonial masters because freedom fighters believed in the idea of freedom. Girls get opportunities to get educated today because somebody believed in the idea of equal opportunity. Even democracy was just an idea before it was realized. Earlier we had kings, queens, and their kingdoms… now we have democracy and freedom.Look around you. Find out a problem that people are facing. Think how you can eliminate the problem and make their lives better. An idea will be born. Believe in it and work to make it work. It is an honor to be known by something that you create. Ideas have the power to make immortals out of mortals!My idea is to motivate people, change their attitude towards themselves and transform their lives. My idea is to make people better human beings and make this world an awesome place for our future generations!I ask you today… What is your IDEA?
